These are some of the self-defense techniques illustrated in the book.

This is a very typical grab that might happen in any mall parking lot or elsewhere.

Extend your thumb upward and make a small counterclockwise circle working against the thumb. If the left hand is grabbed it would be a clockwise circle.

Continue circling the hand to break completely free and run to safety.

This is a same side hand grab.

Use the heel of the hand to deliver an upward thrust to the attacker's chin.

Drive the heel of your hand strongly upward, trying to lift the attacker off his feet. It is not a push, rather a strike.

The elbow is very strong and can deliver a devastating blow. Note the second hand covering the fist of the first to deliver more power.

Raise knee , turn sideways and drive foot through attacker's knee.
